ALEXANDER- Sasha – JOSIPOVICZ : Interior designer , style advocate, color guru
Sasha is an interior designer whose talent for envisioning exceptional environment is equal only to his ability in bringing them vividly to life. He has collaborated on the design of all manner of interiors , both residential and commercial , from Caribbean beach house to new York pied-a-terres, Toronto hospitality hotspots to grand principal residences in major cities in North America and Europe.
Sasha’s portfolio of work is testament to his aesthetics. Elegant and inviting, luxurious and always functional, his respectful approach to design is grounded in his love of classical proportions combined with audacious color combinations. Throughout, his quest for unique and original furnishings and art, has gained him loyal client base on all points of the globe.
Born into the creative crucible of east Europe in the 1960s, Sasha was introduced to classical architecture and Byzantine aesthetics at an early age at his father’s side. The senior Josipovicz, a prominent dissident and mason by trade, was dedicated to preservation of historical monuments from Ancient Roman to Ottoman Empire colonialism.
In University , Sasha first studied Economics and Archaeology eventually graduating with honours from Interior Design Program at the International Academy of Design in Toronto and becoming the first recipient of ARIDO student award for design excellence .
A frequent media commentator on interior design , décor and living with style, Sasha is also a savvy social commentator and master of the bon mot. His work has been featured in major national publications including The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Style at Home, Canadian House and Home , Toronto life as well as internationally in Objekt, Interior Design, Architectural record, Enterijer and Wallpaper . He is regular on the Toronto arts and cultural scene and an active supporter of non for profit organisations Machik, Eat my Words and PETA.
